Yes!!! Finals are finally over (at least for me, and if they aren't for you, hopefully they will be by week's end)!
A few things:
First, we've got the go-ahead from Atlantic Station Mall to carol on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, from 5-6:30pm. I spoke with the special events manager and he said just to begin caroling on the Banana Republic corner so we don't get kicked out by security. Please let me know if you're interested in coming. We need at least 5 people and so far, we have 4 definite and 1 maybe, a few of which are not specifically part of the YAG but would like to carol with us anyways.:) I told them that was fine. I will be mentioning it to the general congregation this Sunday, December 18, 2005, in case more people in the church are also interested.
Second, this is something I have not yet talked to Ted about: Initially when we started the group, Trina wanted very badly to do a youth sponsored lunch, and a few of the other members of the church made it clear that it is probably not reasonable given our current numbers and resources to feed the whole church one Sunday morning. I don't know if that's true or not, I know how often I forget to bring something as it is, but I do believe that just because something doesn't seem reasonable doesn't mean that it can't happen with God... soo what I am proposing is not that we go all out and do lunch one Sunday for the congregation. What I am going to propose instead is that one first Sunday in early 2006, the young adult group go down and do the work that the ladies usually do and let them attend the service. Of course, I'll have to talk to the women (I don't know if they're all women so if they aren't, I apologize ahead of time!) and to Ted first.
We WILL still be meeting this Sunday, December 18, 2005, after the Christmas Cantata service, at Fellini's, as always.:)
Our first meeting in January will be January 15 or 22nd. It WILL be held... One of those Sundays is the day after my sister's birthday, so I don't know if I will attend 10th Street that Sunday or her church. The other (the 15th) will POSSIBLY be the day after I get back in town from Savannah, but I should be in Atlanta that Sunday. I've actually got a speech already planned (I know you're all excited!!!:)) so I can't wait already.
Don't forget to sign the address book this Sunday at Fellini's.
If you've any suggestions for fun things to do in the new year, let me know, or post it in a comment on here for everybody to read!
See you soon!
In His Love,
